MMA Toni Valtonen May Not Fight Because Of His Nazi Tattoo

Michael David Smith of Fanhouse noticed a tattoo found in the arms of Toni Valtonen, an MMA fighter of Finland.  A Nazi symbol tattoo has become controversial as the M1 Company orders Valtonen to remove the tattoo and does not allow him to fight with the tatoos apparent. Valtonen did not made his official statement but he passed along a statement saying, "I had a crazy and rebellious youth, I made some faults in my past and I am not proud of these marks. I regret that I ever had these tattoos made. Nowadays I am a dedicated family man and professional athlete, and I am not involved in any politics whatsoever." But this statement does not convince the M-1 and HDNet to continue having him represent their companies.

Ridiculous reason 4 not letting him to fight! Why aren't - for example - deeply religious symbols forbidden in fights as well (e.g. a christian fighter with a cross tattoo vs. a muslim with a crescent. or a jew with a davidian star vs. a taoist with their gate!?)

Tattoos should have NOTHING to do with MMA period. This shouldnt even be discussed. The world has way too many whiney pussies in it. This is sad. Its about MMA and sports, not politics. So grow the fuck up ppl. I understand that they want him to cover up the tat, becuz they know that lil btiches will cry and they might lose ratings. This man is a good fighter so let him do what he does best. No on said you had to like him.

since the nazis no longer exists as a political party, and is not or was not a religion, you're analogy regarding religious symbols has no validity. it's no longer truly associated with nazis, the swastika has been usurp as a racist symbol by skin-heads, BTW not a religious group. but I do agree with you, let him fight with the tatoo, who cares if it pisses off people. similar symbolism to the confederate flag in the eyes of most americans... which is seen quite frequently and draws little attention.

what the hell man! if somebody is a racist it means he is not mentally stable an he might tick off anytime he sees a person with a different color, i think the M-1 guys did a good job in not letting him fight! everyone can be a nationalist and love his country and common lets face it,,,, we are all racist to some extent but not that far to get fucked up tattoos and hit other guys and hate them just because they look different! secondly this valtonen guy practices in our club so i know him and he is not a bad guy he just looks kinda daumb. But i still cant understand why some Finns get the Nazi tattoo,,, from all the people in the world they should be one of those who could hate Hitler the most! i mean Hitler literally fucked the Finns and Finland,,, so they just show how village type of thinking they have (JUNTTI).

Yes for nazi symbols and tattoos are sensitive. If he has a komunist red star or a che guevara face tatto noone has broblem. But it is very painful for color people jews and komunists to defeat by a fighter with tattoos like that.

Would anyone have reacted if he had a hammer and sickle? Probably not. History is written by the victors, but it´s not necessarily just... .

The swastika is in fact a religious symbol. It is one the oldest symbols on earth and has been worn for thousands of years by Buddhists, followers Zarathustra, Hopi Indians, Vikings and many others.
